The minutes of the Federal Open Market Committee meeting held on January 28-29, showed that Fed officials feel that interest rates will likely remain the same.

Fed officials expressed confidence in their recent meeting on the state of the US economy, and variable interest rates are likely to remain unchanged for a period of time.

This comes at a time when financial markets almost certainly expect at least one and possibly two rate cuts this year.

It is noteworthy that the Federal Reserve monetary policy makers had decided to keep interest rates on federal funds within the range of 1.50% and 1.75% for the third meeting, respectively.
