The head of Pioneer predicts "very little growth" in US oil production in the future
Pioneer Natural Resources CEO Scott Sheffield said Tuesday that oil production in the United States will likely see "very little growth" in the future and will remain largely stable in 2021 around 11 million barrels per day.
The Coronavirus pandemic reduced global demand for fuel and pushed oil prices to fall sharply last year, before economic stimulus measures and the distribution of Covid-19 vaccines helped the industry to recover in the past few months.
But shale oil production in the United States is still below pre-pandemic levels and Sheffield and other oil industry experts told the Serra Wake conference, organized by IHS Markit, that it is unl
